Part 2

He slipped the note into her locker, just before Mark found him. Tommy saw him coming, but pretended not to know. He took off in the opposite direction, heading
to his first period class. The bell rang, and he narrowly escaped Mark.

Tommy somehow avoided Mark all day, but also never saw Robin. He didn't find out that she had been avoiding him until after school.

"Robin?" Tommy said, coming behind her when she was at her locker.

"Tommy..." she softly said.

"Robin, what's wrong?"

"Everything," she whispered.

"Malloy, get away from her!" Mark yelled, coming up behind them.

"Mark, what part of stay away from me didn't you understand!" Robin yelled back.

"Malloy, I don't know what you did to her..." Mark began.

"What is this? No one around here thinks that I can think for myself? I can! Dumping you was my idea, my decision. Tommy had nothing to do with it. So stop acting
like you owned me, because you never did!" Robin yelled, walking away with Tommy in pursuit.

"Robin! Wait up!" Tommy yelled.

"What?" she said, suddenly stopping to face him.

"I just..." Tommy began.

"What makes you think I have everything?" she angrily asked.

"What do you want that you don't have? Or at least not yet?" Tommy counter-asked.

"Everything money can't buy," she sadly replied, turning to head to her car.

Tommy didn't know what to say. He couldn't move, he just stared as she drove away.

Tommy didn't know what to say. He couldn't move, he just stared as she drove away. In a daze, Tommy went to the studio, where he found Trent and Carlos fooling
around.

"Hey Tommy!" Carlos called.

"How was school?" Trent asked.

Tommy simply looked at the 2 best friends. He went to the back of the studio, where he got changed into his karate outfit. Slamming doors along the way, he made
his way to the punching bag. There, he proceeded to beat the bag.

With raised eyebrow, Carlos asked, "What's with him?"

"Not a clue," Trent distantly answered.

Trent went to his angry brother, and held the bag.

"Anything you want to talk about?" Trent asked.

Tommy never answered him, he just continued to beat the bag. Trent was almost surprised at the force Tommy put behind each kick and punch. He knew Tommy
had the power, but to use it, Trent was a little shocked.

After a while, Tommy tired himself out. He reclined against a wall with a bottle of water next to him. He had his head back and eyes shut, not knowing he had a
visitor until Trent got his attention.

Tommy came to the front, where he saw Mark waiting for him.

"What did you do to my girlfriend?" Mark asked impatiently. Neither him nor Tommy cared that Trent and Carlos were still in the room, listening to their fight.

"I didn't do anything! You're the one that did stuff," Tommy angrily answered.

"Oh, get off your high horse Mark. You were one of the ones who did everything. The only thing Tommy did was listen to me, which was a first," Robin said, coming
between them.

"You're coming with me. We're going to have a little discussion," Mark said, grabbing her wrist.

"I'm not going anywhere!" she said, trying to break his grasp.

"Oh yes you are," Mark growled, trying to pull her behind him.

"She said she doesn't want to go with you. Now let her go!" Tommy said.

"This is none of your concern Malloy, so stay out of it," Mark ordered.

But Tommy wasn't about to do what Mark wanted. He broke his grasp on Robin's wrist, sending him to the floor. Mark got up and charged at Tommy, who
sidestepped him and sent Mark to the floor again. Mark got up, fired by being humiliated. Mark kept attacking, while Tommy kept dropping him.  Trent and Carlos
didn't want to interfere in Tommy's fight. They knew it would've happened regardless of where and when. Robin was screaming for Mark to leave, but was ignored.
Mark finally gave up and left.

"This isn't over...you're mine," he whispered to Robin on his way out.

She took his words seriously, knowing he meant them. She checked on Tommy, who was fine.

"You know, you didn't have to do that," she said.

"What was I supposed to do? Just let him do whatever he wanted. I wasn't about to let him do that," Tommy replied.

"Well, thank you," she said, kissing his cheek.

Tommy went back to the locker room and changed. Trent went to talk to Tommy while Carlos and Robin had their own conversation. Trent and Tommy soon came
out, and Tommy invited Robin over for dinner. Immediately and graciously accepting, Tommy and Robin headed over to the Malloys while Trent and Carlos stayed
at the studio for a few more minutes.

"So, what are you thinking?" Carlos asked, sensing something was on his best friend's mind.

"I'm just wondering what Tommy's gotten himself in to," Trent said.

"And?" Carlos prodded.

"And whoever that kid was, I don't think he's just going to leave it alone," Trent replied.

"Tommy can take care of himself," Carlos reminded him.

"I know he can, but can she?" Trent asked.

Tommy and Robin didn't think about Mark on their way back to the Malloys. They discussed their math test that was in a few days. At the Malloys, Robin played
with Tandy and her dolls while Tommy showered and got dressed for dinner. Tandy, Tommy, Robin and Tyler reconvened in the dining room when Katie called
them.

"Is Trent coming?" Tyler asked.

"Not tonight, honey," Katie answered.

Dinner went by quickly. Robin followed Tommy up to his room so they could study for the math exam for a little while. When Robin went to leave, Tommy gave her
his phone number in case she wanted to talk. Tommy watched Robin drive away and then went back to his room.

Tommy went to bed soon after Robin left, since it was late. But he couldn't shake an eerie feeling that something was wrong.

Robin noticed someone following her since she left Tommy's house. She didn't worry about it, thinking she'd be home before she stopped. She was a mile from her
house when she noticed the car behind her pull out to pass her. Whoever it was, they pulled along side her. Just as they pulled ahead of her, they sharply turned right.
Robin slammed on her brakes and swerved to avoid the car. But in the process, she smashed into a tree. She was unconscious, due to hitting her head on the
windshield.

Robin awoke a while later. She recognized her surroundings once her eyes focused. She was in the cabin that Mark's parents owned. Her first impulse was to test
the door, which was locked. She tried forcing it open, but the door wouldn't budge. She sat on the floor, trying to figure a way out. She tried screaming, but was to
no avail. No one could hear her. It was obvious to her that Mark spent time preparing this for her. The windows were boarded up and the only light source was a
lantern in the middle of the room.

Tommy wandered the school in the morning, looking for Robin. He enlisted Adam's help after telling him about the run-in with Mark the day before.  Neither one
could find her by the time the first bell rang, which worried Tommy. When she never showed up by the end of the day, Tommy knew something was wrong. Every
time Tommy saw Mark, he'd get glares. And those glares were making Tommy unsettled. His first call was to her mother.

"Mrs. Timberlake? This is Tommy Malloy..." he began after she picked up the phone.

"She isn't here," Robin's mother curtly said.

"And she didn't show up at school either. I was just wondering if..."

"If you see her, tell her she's in trouble. Next time she decides to spend the night at your house, it would be nice if she let me know," her mother said.

"She left my house last night about 10," Tommy said.

"Then where is she?" her mother asked, worry entering her voice.

"That's what I'm trying to find out," Tommy said.

Tommy's first instinct was to go to Trent and enlist his help. So he started off for the studio. He ran into Mark on his way to the school's parking lot.

"Have you seen Robin today?" Tommy asked him, trying to be civil.

"Yeah, she isn't feeling well. So just leave her alone, she's home resting.  Stay away from her, I've told you before. She's mine," he growled.

Tommy watched Mark storm off, thinking about what Mark said.

"He knows where she is. He said she's at home, which I know he's lying about since I called her mother. Something's wrong and I have a bad feeling about it,"
Tommy explained to Trent when he got to the studio.

"Robin's missing and you think Mark knows more than he's saying?" Trent asked.

"Exactly! I bet Mark knows exactly what happened to Robin," Tommy exclaimed.

"And what do you have in mind?" Trent asked.

"I'm going to confront him and make him tell me where she is!" Tommy responded.

During an earlier conversation, Robin had told Tommy where Mark likes to hang out. With Trent as backup, Tommy found him exactly where Robin said he'd be.

"Mark, we need to talk," Tommy announced, interrupting his conversation with a guy friend.

"Go away Malloy," Mark growled. But Tommy wasn't about to back down.

"Where's Robin?" Tommy asked.

"I told you before, she's home sick," Mark answered.

"Now why don't you tell me the truth? She hasn't been home since last night. I called her mother already," Tommy replied.

"Are you saying I'm lying?" Mark challenged.

"Yeah. You know where she is, and I want to know!" Tommy said.

"Big words for a small kid. Get outta here before you get hurt," Mark threatened.

"Not until you tell me where she is," Tommy replied.

Mark stood eye-to-eye with Tommy in a stare down. No fear could be found in Tommy's angry stare. Mark saw something in Tommy's eyes that he'd never seen
before. Contempt, Tommy didn't care that Mark was rich. There was no way Mark could intimidate the young Malloy. He knew then that it was in his best interest
to tell him where Robin was.

"She's at my parents' cabin. About 30 miles north of here," Mark finally gave in.

After getting detailed directions, the 2 Malloys started off for the cabin. Tommy called Robin's mother on Trent's cell phone to tell her what was going on. It was a
quick ride up. Within 25 minutes, Tommy and Trent reached the cabin.

"ROBIN!" Tommy yelled.

Robin was asleep in the corner of the cabin. Tommy's yell woke her from a troublesome sleep.

"TOMMY!" she yelled back.

Tommy went to the door and tried opening it, but it wouldn't open. "Trent and I are gonna get you out of there!" he yelled to her.

Robin stayed in the corner, listening to the noise that the 2 Malloys were making.

"Robin, get to a place away from the door. We're breaking it down," Tommy said a few minutes later.

"Ok," she replied.

A minute later, the door came crashing down. Tommy was in the cabin first, with Trent on his heels. Robin met Tommy in the middle of the room, where they
embraced.

"You ok?" Tommy asked when they let go.

"Just hungry, that's all," she answered.

"I think I can solve that," Trent said, leading the pair from the cabin.

Robin got in the front seat, next to Tommy. Trent claimed the backseat. They stopped at the first deli they saw. Trent bought Robin a sandwich, who gratefully ate it
quickly.

Tommy, Trent and Robin all went to Robin's house. After introducing Trent to her mother, Robin showed them into the family room. Robin told Trent, Tommy and
her mother what happened. Then Tommy told Robin and her mother what Mark had told him.

"So Mark did this?" her mother asked, shocked.

"Yeah," Robin replied.

"I just wonder whatever happened to your car?" her mother asked.

"He probably hid it somewhere," Robin replied.

Robin and her mother decided to report this to the police. After the police left, Tommy and Robin decided to have a serious talk of their own.

"I'm glad you're ok," Tommy said.

"So am I," Robin replied.

"I have something I have to tell you," Tommy announced.

"What is it?"

"I think I've fallen for you. I've felt that way ever since the dance," Tommy said.

Robin didn't say anything at first, she just thought about Tommy's words.

"I like you too. But I don't think I'm ready for us to be anything more than friends right now. This is gonna be a hard time for me. I know that the people I used to
hang around with won't accept me anymore. It doesn't make that much of a difference, but it's just that I'm gonna have to get used to that. I have a lot to adjust to,"
Robin explained.

"I thought you'd say something like that. You'll always have a place where you belong. With me, Adam and our friends," Tommy said.

They both stood and Tommy gave Robin a supportive hug. They rejoined Trent and her mother in the living room, where they talked for a little while.

Epilogue: (a week later)

"I can't believe you'd do that to Mark," Gina said, standing over a seated Robin, who was at lunch with Tommy, Adam and Maggie.

"Do what?" Robin asked.

"Get him arrested," Gina snottily replied.

"He kidnapped me! That's why!" Robin snapped.

"I'm glad you're so happy with your new friends, because you're not welcome with us anymore," Gina announced just before storming away.

Tommy sensed that Gina had upset Robin a little. He was sitting next to her, so he just laid a supportive hand on her shoulder.

"Don't worry about her," Tommy said.

"I won't! After all, I'm free from them," Robin replied.
